While watching the Ravens versus Browns game yesterday, the name of the lecture came to fruition “Have You Met Your Goal?”
Being an engineer, I love planning and figuring step by step the procedure to accomplish the goal – probably a little too much.
“A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dreams come true. – Greg S. Reid”
So goals could be:
Getting closer to God
Helping others in their spiritual and other needs
Loving my wife and children more
Learning something new to enhance my job
Learning how to play golf or a new sport or a new hobby
Fixing up the house
Maintaining your health
It is important for us, as Christians, to make sure our goals and plans are focused on Christ and honoring Him.
Well a goal that I had was to improve my health. I wanted to get to the weight when I got married some 55 years ago. It took 3 years and I got to my goal weight in June 2020.
This goal was accomplished following the Weight Watchers program and exercising daily.
My other goal was to serve others as the Eucharistic Minister and Eucharistic Visitor at Howard County Hospital by giving out Holy Communion, praying with patients and also visiting patients of all faiths. Unfortunately, this is now on hold due to the virus. I took a course on being a Stephens Minister and I am now waiting to receive a person.
Please share with other your goals
